Sotai
Postural Re-alignment
Sotai is a highly effective system of simple exercises and techniques that equalise muscle tone and correct distortions in the posture. It can very effectively eliminate pain in the back, neck or shoulders, and release muscular stiffness or pain anywhere in the body.
Sotai uses the principle of following the line of least resistance. For example, if your neck will not turn easily to the left, then specific exercises based around moving the neck to the right, away from the pain and stiffness, will re-establish full mobility.
It is a system of assisted exercises based on 'contract-relax' principles, designed to re-establish postural integrity and musculo-skeletal mobility. It also serves to rapidly correct qi imbalances within the channels.

Japanese Acupressure
Head & Face Massage
This treatment is a synthesis of my knowledge of acupressure points, Craniosacral therapy holds, and myofascial techniques applied gently to the face, scalp and neck. This treatment is incredibly relaxing as the facial nerves and acupressure points correspond directly to the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), the treatment assists the ANS to engage at the parasympathetic level, which is where the deep healing can take place within the body. As well as these benefits, it is an effective beauty treatment allowing blood and lymph to remove toxins from the cells and bringing Qi (vitality) to them. The myofascial techniques are applied directly to the small muscles of the face, releasing any trapped tension that is stored there and giving the face a youthful, vibrant glow. On request I use a home blended facial oil rich in natural avocado, wheatgerm and carrot oils combined with a blend of essential oils.

Ampuku
Abdominal Massage
The 'Hara' is Japanese word loosely translated into English as abdomen, Hara actually implies much more than this as it is considered not only the physical centre but the energetic centre of power within the body. The Hara contains our core vitality, housing most of our vital organs. In Oriental medicine a strong Hara shows that we have good Kidney Qi which equates to good energy storage (like having good quality long life batteries). The digestive system benefits greatly from this treatment freeing blockages and pain, stimulating and releasing long term holding patterns that can be unconsciously stored and allowing better peristaltic movement through the digestive tract.
The massage uses various techniques such as: wave rocking, deep perpendicular pressure on meridians and diagnostic areas, clockwise circling of the Large Intestine, localised meridian work and breath work.

Wholistic Massage

Wholistic Massage - This massage focuses on the releasing of muscular tension and the movement of lymphatic fluids. This enables any build of uric acid through exercise or dancing to be expelled and reabsorbed through the flushing out ability of the lymphatic system. I also apply acupressure point pressure to relevant areas of tension and some joint mobilisation techniques and assisted muscle stretches if it is required.
